An\nexperienced and successful composer\nand conductor, Mendelssohn also was a\nclever dramaturg, who knew the taste and needs of his audience.\n\nApproaching Bach from Mendelssohn\u2019s\npoint of view, Opera Fuoco uses historic\ninstruments from the romantic period\nand strives to evoke the youth, vigor and\ndramatic nature of Mendelssohn\u2019s mid-\n19th century understanding of Bach\u2019s\nmonumental oeuvre.
