Cécile Madelin, a Franco-German mezzo-soprano, began her musical journey at a young age with the viola da gamba. At eight years old, she joined the Maîtrise de Paris where she discovered her passion for singing and the stage. Graduating with highest honors from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris in 2020, she received guidance from Élène Golgevit and later Christine Schäfer during her exchange at the Musikhochschule Hans Eisler in Berlin.
Awarded prizes at the Gordes melody competition and the young singers competition at the Avignon Opera, she has portrayed Chérubin in The Marriage of Figaro (Touring in France) and Rosita in Offenbach's A Husband at the Door (Compiègne, Brussels, Cologne). At the Montpellier Opera, she performed the role of Mathilde in Carrot Top, and audiences will also hear her as Giulia in Rossini's La scala di Seta, a co-production of the Philharmonie de Paris and the CNSMDP, and as Paquette in Bernstein's Candide with Opera Fuoco. Les Noces de Figaro (Tournée en France) et Rosita dans Un mari à la porte d’Offenbach (Compiègne, Bruxelles, Cologne). À l’Opéra de Montpellier elle interprète le rôle de Mathilde dans Poil de Carotte on l’entendra aussi dans Giulia dans La scala di Seta de Rossini, coproduction de la Philharmonie de Paris et du CNSMDP et Paquette dans Candide de Bernstein avec Opera Fuoco.
For the 2023-2024 season, she revisits the role of Chérubin at the Festival des Concerts au coucher de soleil conducted by Cyril Diederich, embodies Dido in Dido and Aeneas at the Burghof in Lörrach. Didon et Enée au Burghof de Lörrach. Elle est membre de l’Académie de l’Opéra de Monte-Carlo et y fera ses débuts dans le rôle de l’Enfant dans L’Enfant et les sortilèges de Ravel. Elle reprend également Yniold dans Pelléas et Mélisande She is a member of the Opéra de Monte-Carlo Academy and will make her debut in the role of the Child in Ravel's L'Enfant et les sortilèges. She also reprises the role of Yniold in Pelléas et Mélisande by Debussy, directed by Patrice Caurier and Moshe Leiser at the Théâtre de l'Athénée and at the Opéra de Clermont-Ferrand. She is the laureate of the 2024 Tutti Fund. Starting next year, she will be an artist in residence at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel and a member of the 6th generation of Opera Fuoco.
