Pierre Gennaï – Baryton

Born in 2002, Pierre Gennaï began his comprehensive musical studies at a very early age, learning the double bass, piano, organ, composition, orchestration, choir and orchestra conducting, and more. He began singing in 2020 with Laurène Huet at the CRD in Nîmes before being admitted in 2022 to Mireille Delunsch's singing class at the CNSMD in Lyon, while continuing to study organ with Yves Lafargue at the CRR in Lyon. For the 2024-2025 season, he will be a member of the Opera Studio of the Opéra National du Rhin.

He made his stage debut in 2023, performing the title role in Don Giovanni at the Festival Lyrique de Samoens.

In concert, he sings the bass solo parts in Mozart's Requiem under the direction of Bernard Tétu, Haydn's Missa in tempore belli under the direction of Stéphanie-Marie Degand, and A. Dvořák's Mass in D Major. He also sings the baritone solo in Fauré's Requiem with the Strasbourg Philharmonic Orchestra, and Stravinsky's Les Noces at the Opéra National du Rhin. de Stravinsky à l’Opéra National du Rhin.

With a particular fondness for the French melody and lied repertoire, he is a multiple winner of the Concours de Mélodie de Gordes and winner of the Concours Toulouse Mélodie Française. He recently performed Schubert's Die Schöne Müllerin cycle and is scheduled to give melody recitals at the Théâtre Impérial de Compiègne in 2025 as well as at various summer festivals.

More recently, he played Count Almaviva (Nozze di Figaro) at the CNSMDL in a production directed by Daniel Esteve and conducted by Julien, and Bartolo (Il Barbiere di Siviglia) at the Oppède Opera Festival, conducted by Cyril Diederich.
