ABOUT

Opera Fuoco's production of The Marriage of Figaro was conceived and imagined in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. During the first lockdown in May 2020, the soloists of the Opera Fuoco Young Artists Program recorded Mozart's opera in a version with piano and guitar. Following this sound recording, the singers, led by director Alexandre Camerlo, performed in the series "Figaro in the City" broadcast by the Marquee. TV platform (Read more about this production).

In the current context of the reopening of cultural venues, we are delighted to be able to perform for live audiences and we chose to maintain the intimacy of the musical format we created. The reduced orchestration will reflect the chamber nature of Mozart's score. This approach will allow the soloists to deepen their knowledge of the roles in this opera through their interactions with the instrumentalists. Mozart's and Da Ponte's masterpiece is presented here in a unique form highlighting the consummate craftsmanship of this opera.
