Eugénie Joneau – Mezzo-soprano

Eugénie is a french mezzo-soprano who studied in Lyon with Pierre Ribémont. Then, she perfected herself in different repertoire with Anaïk Morel, Jane Thorner, Irene Kudela, Marie-Claude Papion and Mari Laurila-Lili.

As part of her studies, she sang Orphée (Orphée and Eurydice) and Dido (Dido and Aeneas).

She was invited as a soloist in « La petite messe solennelle » of Rossini in the main room of the Lyon’s City Hall and also in Lou (L’homme qui titubait dans la guerre by Isabelle Aboulker).

In 2018, she won the 1st Opera Prize and the 1st Melody Prize at the 25th International Opera Competition in Mâcon.

She made her debut as the 3rd Lady (Die Zauberflöte), under the baton of Quentin Hindley.

In 2020/21, she will be Gertrude in Hansel and Gretel, The German Mother/The Danish Lady/The Newspaper seller in Death in Venice and Kate Pinkerton in Madame Butterfly.

En 2020/21 elle y chantera notamment le rôle de la Mère dans Hansel et Gretel, The German Mother, the Danish lady et the Newspaper seller dans la Mort à Venise et celui de Kate Pinkerton dans Madame Butterfly.
