La Bohème – Giacomo Puccini
TITLE
La Bohème – Giacomo Puccini
ABOUT
Puccini’s chef d’oeuvre, La Bohème, is among the most often performed operas throughout the world since its creation in 1896. It is, as one should not forget, a story of youth: starving artists living a fantasy in the garrets of wintry Paris, defying fate for art and love. It is rare to hear it sung by truly young singers, because the composer’s lavish orchestration requires mature singers for each role. Opera Fuoco’s atelier lyrique offers a version with a reduced accompaniment that allows our young singers to throw themselves into the music and bring to the public an interpretation that celebrates the uninhibited youthful passion that the story encapsulates. It will be chance for these developing artists to express what Puccini intended: that blind love can intoxicate us despite tragic consequences.
