Born of a genuine desire to raise awareness among young audiences of the contemporary themes portrayed in Baroque music, Hercules is an educational project imagined by David Stern and the Opera Fuoco company inspired by the 2024 Olympic Games and on the occasion of the performance of Handel's opera (Hercules) to be given by Opera Fuoco at the Opéra de Massy in May 2024. The aim is to make listening to and understanding Baroque music more accessible through singing and illustration.

Between November 2023 and May 2024, students from the Lycée professionnel horticole de Marcoussis (91) will be supervised by David Stern, two soloists from the Opera Fuoco Young Artists Program, a conductor and an illustrator, working on the representation of mythical heroes in opera and the visual arts.

This educational and participatory project will enable children to draw inspiration from Handel's operatic works featuring these heroes, and to design their own visions of the characters.
